Experience Guanacaste from the treetops and the trails with the Original Canopy & Horseback Riding Combo at Congo Canopy. This approximately four-hour adventure combines our classic family-friendly Original Canopy Zip-Line with a calm guided horseback ride through the Guanacaste countryside.
 

Start by flying through the tropical forest across ziplines, elevated platforms and hanging bridges, then trade your harness for a saddle and experience the landscape from a completely different perspective.
 

Experience the Original Canopy Zip-Line

Begin with our classic Original Canopy experience, designed for families, first-time zipliners and anyone who wants to experience Costa Rica's tropical forest from above.

The course features 11 zipline cables, 14 elevated platforms and 3 suspended hanging bridges through the forest. Professional guides accompany you throughout the course, and all required zipline safety equipment is provided.
 

Fly Through the Tropical Forest

Progress from platform to platform as you become comfortable with the experience and travel through the canopy. Reach heights of up to 30 meters, with the longest zipline extending approximately 400 meters through the forest. Keep your eyes open for birds, monkeys and other wildlife that may be present in the surrounding habitat. Wildlife sightings occur naturally and cannot be guaranteed.
 

Cross the Hanging Bridges

Travel across 3 suspended hanging bridges connecting different sections of the Original Canopy course. The bridges add another dimension to the adventure and give you a different perspective of the surrounding tropical forest between your zipline flights.

No previous zipline experience is required. Children ages 3 and older can participate with a parent or guardian.
 

Then Explore Guanacaste on Horseback

After completing the Original Canopy, slow the pace and continue your adventure with a guided horseback ride through the natural surroundings of Guanacaste. Follow your guide along mountain and forest trails while enjoying the countryside from horseback.
 

The horseback portion is a calm guided trail ride rather than a galloping experience, allowing you to relax and enjoy the scenery after your canopy adventure.
 

Two Different Ways to Experience Guanacaste

This combo brings together the excitement of ziplining through the tropical forest with the slower pace of exploring the countryside on horseback. Children ages 3 and older can participate in horseback riding, with younger children riding with a parent when appropriate. The maximum horseback riding weight is 200 lbs per rider. Professional guides accompany both activities, and all required zipline safety equipment is provided. For proper zipline harness fit, the maximum pant/belt waist measurement is 46 inches. In approximately four hours, you'll experience Guanacaste from two completely different perspectives—from the forest canopy above to the trails below.
